Well over a thousand scores were received this year again. As usual, I would like to thank everyone who participated in the IKAC/IKCAC competition. I also would like to thank those who bore with me during this most difficult year for me. I am truly thankful for your support and patience.

I will be in contact with those of you who have won medallions. As usual, I would prefer that the medallions be awarded by the Kingdom Archery Marshal at an appropriate venue, so if you are a Kingdom marshal for a winning Kingdom, and you are interested in giving out the medallions for your Kingdom, please drop me an email at ikac@detommaso.org - Winning archers, please also contact me with your snail-mail address at the email address above. I will let you know if your Kingdom Officer has asked for the medallions, otherwise I will send them to you directly.

Next year is already upon us. There will be no major changes, but there will be some minor changes. Specifically, I will be adopting an idea from Gilbert Ost Westley, and creating a Youth Division that will cover the minors that are between 14 and 18, and therefore too old for the Children Division, and could be considered too young for the regular division. The rules and distances for the Youth division will be the same as for the Open division. Since it's a new division and we don't know how many archers will participate, next year we will count the top three archers regardless of Kingdom for medallions in that division, vs. the top Kingdom. If participation is high enough, then the year after we will do like in the Children division, and set it up like the other divisions. I will post updated spreadsheets that will include the Youth division in the dropdown lists in the next week or two. In the meantime, if you send a score in for this division, please indicate it next to the name.

To make life easier for the Kingdom Chroniclers, for whom space is always at a premium, and who generously give up some space on their newsletters to the IKAC on a semi-monthly basis, I will only report the Children and Youth division scores on the Internet.

Finally, I note with distress the lack of scores from ATENVELDT this past couple of years. Archers in Atenveldt used to be great supporters of the IKAC, and I fondly remember my own experience (too many years ago, when I was starting out) of shooting the IKAC at Estrella for the Known World Archery Competition, and meeting Sir Jon. The great experience of shooting the IKAC at Estrella with Atenveldt archers always made me enjoy the IKAC, and it pushed me to become Keeper of the IKAC when the opportunity came. So if you are from Atenveldt, or Aethelmearc (who also has great archers and great people, many of whom I know personally, but was very lightly represented this year in the IKAC), and there is something I can do to encourage scores from your archers, please let me know. If you are going to Estrella, (I wish I was going with you :) ) and you shoot an IKAC, please send it in. Same is valid for all the major wars that occur during the season.

Finally, I appreciate the input of all the archers that participate in the IKAC. If you have ideas or suggestions, please continue to send them in, and I will do everything I can to make them happen.

Shoot well!

- Lorenzo
