Rules:
In 2017, we are adding Atlatl as a new, trial weapon form for the TWIC.
The rules are the same as for other TWIC contests, except that the minimum distances for the three ends will be 10 yards, 15 yards, and 20 yards. You can find the TWIC General Rules here
All participants submitting scores for this trial contest must make sure they are following their Kingdom rules with respect to range set up, targets, weapon inspection, marshalling, etc.
Note that various SCA kingdoms treat how atlatls are handed differently; in some cases they fall under the archery marshallate, in others under TW, but with special requireents for the throwing range. For the purposes of this TWIC contest, we do not expect those differences will be relevant; please inform the Keeper of the TWIC if you think your Kingdom rules for atlatl might not be compatible with this trial for the TWIC.
If your Kingdom doesn't have rules for throwing atlatls, we encourage you to ask for more information on the various SCA Thrown Weapons forums and get your Kingdom TW marshallate involved in the discussion.
